Dolphin Nursery and Preschool (Kingston)

Laura Williams

Nursery Manager

In 1998 I qualified in childcare after completing my CACHE Diploma in Nursery Nursing (NNEB). After working in many different childcare settings within my home country Wales I decided to broaden my experience and move abroad and work in childcare in summer resorts, Mallorca and Ibiza and ski resorts in France, Meribel, Tignes and Courchevelle.

During my career in the last 10 years I have a vast experience in Childcare within schools, nurseries and as a Nanny, gained experience in childcare management, recruitment and marketing. I started at Dolphin Nursery and Preschool in September 2009 as a deputy manager to then being promoted as manager in May 2010. The nursery is an excellent place to work and is constantly developing with its great atmosphere, staff and of course children. To broden my experience within childcare i will be carrying out the Leadership and Management degree in childcare in September!

Ashlea Sexton

Deputy Manager

In 2009 I completed my NVQ 3 in childcare where I have then gone on to complete my Foundation Degree in Early Years Care and Education, from here I will be starting my BA in September 2011. I have a vast experience within Early Years ages and have also a excellent knowlegde within Management having carried out Deputy Manager roles in previous nurseries.

I started working for Dolphin in May 2010. The nursery is an excellent place to work with great staff, children and parents to work alongside. The nursery is constantly developing and providing excellent childcare.

Charlotte McKennzie

3rd in Charge

I started at Dolphin Day Nursery and Preschool in July 2010 and really enjoy working with all the children, their families and the staff.

In 2008 I graduated from university where I completed my foundation degree in Psychology combined with Early Childhood studies. I have recently gained my Early Years Professional Status which I completed in July 2010 with Tribal Education. I have worked with children across a wide range of ages, ranging from 3 months to 16 years, with experience in Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 Education. My role within the nursery is varied as a Unit Co-Ordinator and will now have a great impact as I have gained my EYPS.

Carlie Strong

Room Manger Jellyfish

In 2005 I qualified within childcare, where I then decided to pursue my career abroad and worked for a tour operator as a Nanny in Kos, mainland Greece and also in the French Alps. I also have experience working within day nurseries and preschools as well as managing a holiday club.

I started at Dolphin Day Nursery in the summer of 2010 as a Room Manager and enjoy working within the baby room with children between the ages of 3 months - 12 months. This is where most of my experience lies and I love to see the children develop and learn new skills. I enjoy carrying out creative activities and singing songs is the best part of my daily routine. I have a team of 3 which also gives me management experience and I look to develop within my role. I have recently gained my Foundation Degree in Early Years and will be continuing my studies and carrying out my BA which will begin in September 2011.

Georgina Smith

Room Manger Seahorses

I have worked at Dolphin Day Nursery and Preschool for 4 years. I have gained my qualification level 3 in February and wish to continue to develop in childcare and within my new role.

After qualifying I worked on becoming more confident within my role as a Nursery Nurse. Having worked within most of the rooms within Dolphin, I have gained a vast experience of many different ages and abilities of children. I have found that my preferred age range is with the under 2's. With dedication and determination I then got promoted to room manager where I now have the responsibility of running and overseeing our Seahorses room which is with children between the age of 10 months - 15 months. This role is challenging with continious learning and meeting new people and children. I have new ideas every day and thrive to progress within my career.

Kirsty Watts

Room Manager Angel Fish

I started working at Dolphin Day Nursery and Preschool in Summer 2011. The nursery is a great place to work and all the staff, children and parents are fun and friendly.

As well as being the room manager of Angel fish I am the dedicated Health and Safety officer for the nursery. I manage a great team and enjoy the challenges that are set upon me with my work. I look forward to progressing in my career with Casterbridge at Dolphin.

Hannah Watkins

Room Manager Little Lobsters

I have been at Dolphin Day Nursery and Preschool for nearly 2 years starting out as a nursery nurse to then being promoted as the Room Manager for Little Lobsters. I have been qualified for nearly five years within the field of child care. I have experience working with children between the ages of three months and five years. I am currently Level four qualified and have been since 2008.

I enjoy working with children as I enjoy the challenge of helping them achieve their milestones. During my spare time I enjoy taking part in various different activities including my favourite sport, Roller Derby.

Elisabeth Magin

Room Manager, Seals

I started in childcare in 2008 as a Nursery Assistant. Soon after I went on to complete both my NVQ Level 2 and Level 3 in December 2010.

In December 2009 I started at Dolphin Day Nursery and Preschool where I continued my studies of level 3. After qualifing my level 3 I was promoted into the role of Room Manager within the Seals room. I thoroughly enjoy my role and the new experiences which come with it. I look forward to developing myself and the nursery.

Lisa Brooks

Room Manger Stingrays

My name is Lisa and I have been working at Dolphin Day Nursery and Preschool for over 6 years. I have enjoyed every minute and I look forward to seeing the nursery and children develop for years to come.

I started working for Dolphin straight from leaving school, and I have now completed my NVQ 2 and NVQ 3 with the company. I have recently been given the opportunity to further my career and have been promoted to Room Manager in Stingrays with the 2-3 year olds, where I have been working for over two years now. I am looking forward to all the new challenges and experiences as I enjoy learning more each day.

Nicky Holder

I started at Dolphin Day Nursery as a nursery nurse and have recently been promoted as Room Manager. The role is exciting and challenging and I am looking to develop myself and the nursery.

I am currently undergoing my foundation degree and am completing my final year.

Sandra Tave

Room Manager Preschool Puffins

My name is Sandra and I'm from Mauritius. I have been a qualified Preschool Teacher since 1996.

For the past five years I have been working for Dolphin Day Nursery, providing quality childcare for preschool children aged between 3-5 years old. My duties and responsibilities are to supervise and regularly review the daily programme and events for children and ensure interests are maintained. I also, through thorough observations, ensure the children’s next steps are being planned to coincide with the curriculum. I also promote the health, safety and wellbeing of all children as well as good behaviour and work with SENCO to support children with special educational needs. I work closely with the chef to ensure the children have more understanding of healthy eating.

Sorea Erimwonren

Nursery Chef

I have worked within a childcare setting since 2003 as Head of House and also as assistant chef based within Grena Road Nursery, our sister setting in Richmond. From there I went to college to do my Level Two NVQ in Catering based at Richmond College.

Since then I have moved over to Dolphin in Kingston to follow my passion for my role and progress in my career. I am now the Head Chef within Dolphin Nursery and am looking forward to the new and exciting experiences which come with the role.
