The safety and security of your child is of paramount importance and access to the nursery is strictly controlled. The office is adjacent to the entrance to enable management to monitor who is entering and leaving the nursery during the day. In addition all visitors to the nursery are asked to provide identification and to sign the visitors book on arrival. Our staff are very conscientious and are required to adhere to strict policies and procedures regarding the authorisation for collection of children.
All employees are record checked with the Criminal Investigations Bureau and are also required to attend formal child protection training as part of their induction. This training is further supported by a fully trained Child Protection officer on site at the nursery.
The nursery also has a fully trained Health and Safety Coordinator to ensure nursery safety and security at all times.
We also believe it is our duty to teach the children in our care about safety and security and discussions and activities around these subjects are built into the curriculum.
Our Ofsted report said 'Children are cared for in a very clean, safe and secure environment. Staff carry out rigorous systems to access risks and there are effective measures to ensure that children are safe in the nursery and when on outings. Fire fighting equipment is in place and regular fire drills ensure that staff and children are aware of how to leave the premises quickly and safely. Clear recruitment and induction procedures ensure that staff are suitable to work with children. Staff have a sound understanding of child protection issues and know what to do if they have concerns about a child.'
